Poppy Playtime 3 releases next week, and fans are extremely excited about the highly-anticipated next installment in the horror series. However, there are also many newbies to the series that might be interested in starting off with Chapter 3 - but is that an option? Or do you have to play Poppy Playtime Chapters 1 and 2 before you dive into Poppy Playtime chapter 3? Let's take a look at everything you need to know.
Do You Need To Play Poppy Playtime Chapters 1 & 2 To Play 3?
No, it's highly unlikely that players will need to complete Poppy Playtime Chapters 1 & 2 to play Poppy Playtime Chapter 3. When Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 was added to the game, players were able to access it without ever playing through a minute of the first chapter. This means that Chapter 3 will also likely be available to those who didn't play through Chapters 1 and 2, meaning you'll be able to start out on any chapter you want.
Because lots of streamers and content creators play the game, developers have likely made the game quite easy to pick up and play no matter when you want to hop in, without starting from the very beginning.
But will you understand the lore of Poppy Playtime if you skip a chapter or even two? The answer is actually, probably, yes. Poppy Playtime's lore isn't very complex, so at this point, it's easy to pick up any chapter and quickly understand what's going on and who the characters are. The series might be harder to pick up in future chapters as the lore gets deeper and more complex, but for now, all you really need to know are the characters' names.
If you're itching to try out Poppy Playtime chapter 3 when it comes out but you don't really want to try out the first two chapters, it's definitely worth giving it a go!
