Gwyneth Paltrow Posts Photo of Her Lookalike Daughter, Apple, Now

August 2024 · 6 minute read

When Gwyneth Paltrow and ex husband Chris Martin welcomed their first child, Apple, in 2004, they got a lot of flack for their daughter's unique name. But it turns out, it suits their older child perfectly, because it's clear the apple does not fall far from the tree. On Thanksgiving Day, Paltrow posted a photo of her now 16-year-old daughter, Apple Martin, and 14-year-old son, Moses Martin, as she honored her late father. On Nov. 26, Paltrow visited the grave of her late father, Bruce Paltrow, marking his birthday and pausing for some reflection with her kids. "On this November 26th, I was able to visit my fathers resting place (on his birthday) with these two loves of my life," she wrote on Instagram. "Happy thanksgiving. Life has incredible highs and lows. Perhaps feeling it all at the same time is the art."

In the comments, fans shared their love and support for Paltrow, whose dad died of oral cancer in 2002, but they also couldn't get over how similar she and Apple look.

"How stunning is Apple. She is mini-GP," Hollywood talent manager Aleen Keshishian commented.

"I'm having trouble figuring out who the younger is: GP or Apple?" another fan responded.

Paltrow has shared a few photos of her daughter in the past year, including one of the three generations: Martin, Paltrow, and her mom, fellow actor Blythe Danner.

Martin has two middle names, but the first is for her grandmother. Her full name is Apple Blythe Alison Martin.

On May 14, just a few days after Mother's Day, Paltrow celebrated Martin's sweet 16 with this heartfelt message:

"You are the light of my heart, you are pure joy. You are wickedly intelligent and you have the best, most dry, most brilliant sense of humor. I have the best time being your mom. I love our nightly evening chats when I really get to hear what's on your mind. You work hard to get whatever it is you want to achieve, and you have grit and responsibility in spades. … Thank you for choosing me. I adore you to the moon and back a zillion times."

Damian Hurley, 18, is the son of model and actor Elizabeth Hurley and late businessman and philanthropist Steve Bing. He's almost a carbon copy of his mom and his striking looks have led to a burgeoning modeling career. Recently, the older Hurley told Us Weekly that parenting while working is "ludicrously hard," but that she decided from the beginning that Damian would always come first. "He was going to be my No. 1, which has been and remains so," she said. You could say 22-year-old Stranger Things breakout star and musician Maya Hawke is a perfect split of both her parents: Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. Hawke and her mom are so close, she even let her cut her hair in quarantine. "Home hair cuts bring us back home," Thurman captioned an Instagram photo of her cutting her daughter's hair. "We are all finding our selves again." And for more fun celebrity content delivered right to your inbox, sign up for our daily newsletter.

Kaia Gerber, the 19-year-old daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and model-turned-businessman Rande Gerber, is taking after her parents in more ways than one. She's fast becoming one of the most favored faces in the high fashion world. Since first hitting the runway in 2017, Gerber has strutted down the catwalk for every major fashion house from Burberry to Chanel, and Prada to Versace. And even she has trouble telling herself and her mom apart.

"From day one, people in the industry were often taken aback by my resemblance to my mom. As I get older, it happens even more, and it's not just a visual thing: It's everything from our mannerisms to our voices," Gerber wrote in a personal essay for Vogue in 2019. "It used to be that I didn't see it at all, but now I will look at a picture and have to take a moment before realizing which one of us it is. But the biggest compliment is when someone says I act like my mom. Beyond her beauty and obvious appeal, she has always been my hero and my role model because of the way she treats people and the lens that she sees the world through, and that's something for which I'm beyond grateful."

And Gerber has some advice if you're still struggling to see the difference between her and Crawford. "Quick tip: My mom's the one with the mole," she quipped.

Though he looks just like his soccer superstar dad, Brooklyn Beckham, the 21-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham, hasn't stepped into his father's cleats. Instead, he's favored his parents' stylish side, also working as a model. Brooklyn, the oldest of the couple's four children, got his big break at 16, when he was featured in a campaign for Burberry Brit. Of course, 31-year-old Zoë Kravitz is a hugely successful actor in her own right, which isn't surprising considering her genes: Her mom is Lisa Bonet and her dad is Lenny Kravitz. But, as this photo proves, she certainly takes after her fellow actor mom, with Time magazine saying they're "basically twins." There is perhaps no more famous lookalike mother-daughter pair than Reese Witherspoon and her and Ryan Phillippe's 21-year-old daughter, Ava Phillippe. The two get mistaken for each other all the time. In fact, in 2017, Phillippe joined her mom at the Big Little Lies premiere in Hollywood, and a fan congratulated her on the show, thinking she was Witherspoon. "People come up to her [all the time]," Witherspoon told E! News. "We were at a premiere and they congratulated her on her performance. She's like 'I'm not in the movie.'"
