Freddie Gladney III, known professionally as Bankroll Freddie, is an American rapper, Bankroll Freddie was among 35 individuals arrested in Arkansas Wednesday for allegedly conspiring to sell massive amounts of crack cocaine and cannabis.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry and cash were seized from the nearly three dozen people taken into custody. Freddie and his East AR crew are accused of running their alleged operation from March 2021 to October 2022, per TMZ.
Born Freddie Gladney, Bankroll Freddie also faces weapons charges because he allegedly possessed several firearms as part of their drug trafficking scheme. According to HotNewHipHop, a Micro Draco AK-47 style pistol and a Polymer80 9 Glock clone handgun, along with 21 pounds of weed, were found inside his vehicle during a search after officers pulled him over for speeding.
According to the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office, Quality Control rapper Bankroll Freddie was arrested in Arkansas on Thursday (April 14). A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s office confirmed to Billboard on Friday (April 15) that Freddie Gladney (Bankroll’s birth name) was taken into custody on Thursday night on multiple charges, including resisting arrest/refusal to submit to arrest/active or passive refusal, “simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms,” as well as a felony count of possession of a schedule VI controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, speeding and an additional possession charge.
At press time the specifics of the drug and gun counts were unavailable, according to Billboard.
While the Sheriff’s office spokesperson could not confirm that Gladney — who they said at press time was still being held in custody with no bond — was the rapper known as Bankroll Freddie, the photo and age (27) in the arrest record matched Gladney’s information; a spokesperson for Gladney had not returned Billboard‘s request for comment at press time.
A judge later determined that the Quality Control artist would be given “every incentive to comply with his release conditions,” based on his clean record. Those conditions included maintaining a curfew, avoiding fraternizing with felons, and refraining from smoking cannabis or excessive drinking.
Freddie was shot last year. He later displayed the wound on his Instagram Stories, accompanied by the caption, “I’m good.”
Bankroll Freddie released his studio effort Big Bank last year before returning to the mixtape circuit with From Rap to Trap 2 earlier in 2022. “I feel like a lot of stuff I did slept on. Probably because ain’t too many people heard me. I’m a new face to the world,” he told XXL after inking his deal with QC in 2019. “A lot of people may not have heard my new stuff, my old stuff. It’s more about putting it out there, put it in they face.”
